COLD WATER IMMERSION

Ice Swimming

Immersion in cold water is a health and recreational activity that has been practiced for centuries and has gained considerable popularity in recent years. As a year round skin swimmer Roberta has been immersing herself in colder waters for well over a decade and has completed an IISA certified Ice mile, an Ice Kilometer and has swum under ice in Canmore, Alberta.
Through research and experience Roberta has gained a considerable knowledge of cold water safety. She has used this knowledge to train people to safely enter cold water including actors working extensively in a 10C lake, stunt performers working in a myriad of cold and ice water environments, and marathon swimmers training for channel swimming conditions. She has also brought her training to the search and rescue technicians from 442 Rescue Squadron of the Canadian Forces.
Our seminar on swimming in cold water is a great place to start!
